There is a persistent irony in the current market: a platinum Patek perpetual calendar — a genuinely difficult mechanical achievement — trades well below a steel sports watch with a time-and-date movement. Bezel: stepped platinum bezel with sharp edges and no polishing.

Pricing rationale

The 5140P is out of production, so no retail figure applies. Completed sales for full-set platinum examples in Excellent condition ran HK$840,000–HK$960,000 over ninety days. We are priced at HK$890,000, mid-band, supported by complete documentation and verified perpetual calendar function. One caution stated plainly: perpetual calendar servicing is specialist work and materially more expensive than a time-and-date movement. Budget for it. In exchange, this reference has held value far more steadily than the steel sports segment through the post-2022 correction.
